The Last Voyage of the Demeter

The Last Voyage of the Demeter brings an often-overlooked chapter in vampiric lore to the big screen. In Bram Stoker’s classic Dracula, the titular vampire travels from Carpathia to wreak havoc on London. The ship arrives without its crew. The Last Voyage of the Voyage of the Demeter shows us why.

In our exclusive featurette, director Andre Øvredal, producer Bradley J. Fischer and stars Corey Hawkins and Liam Cunningham tell us about their approach to this tale of terror on the high seas – a scenario in which, as Cunningham explains, “it’s monster time when the lights go out.”

Says Øvredal, “I really love this Alien-style story set on the ocean in 1987, with Dracula instead of the Alien monster.” Hawkins talks about the emotions of fear and wonder the movie stirred up in him.

With The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Øvredal set out to make the scariest depiction of Dracula ever. You can see the result when The Last Voyage of the Demeter opens in theaters on August 11. Tickets are on sale now, right here at Fandango.
