No Disney panel at any convention would be complete without some juicy Marvel morsels, and CinemaCon was no different. The cast of the upcoming film Thunderbolts* took the stage and shared a new clip from the film, depicting the ragtag bunch as they crash Avengers Tower, now owned by Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina — that film opens on May 2, 2025. Then the audience received a special message from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige on the set of Avengers: Doomsday, who revealed that production would begin on that film in the coming days and introduced a special look at The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The footage gave us our first glimpse of Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, bringing the message that Galactus is on his way to destroy Earth. Can the Fantastic Four save their planet? We’ll find out when the film opens on July 25, 2025.

Director Edgar Wright and stars Glen Powell, Colman Domingo, and Josh Brolin all appeared on stage for Paramount’s presentation of The Running Man, a new adaptation of the Stephen King story that Wright said he loved as a kid, but felt had never been told in the way the book intended. Powell said that the film “doesn’t just have touches or flavors of things audiences love; this one is a full meal,” after which he proclaimed, “I’ve never worked hard in my life.” The quartet presented the first trailer for the film, which featured Wright’s trademark sense of humor, and the action ratcheted up to 10, ending with a fun scene where Michael Cera’s character helps Glen dispatch some enemies by shooting them with water while they’re standing on an electrified floor. The Running Man will open in theaters on November 7, 2025.

Lionsgate’s presentation kicked off with an action-packed start featuring an extended clip from Ballerina. The footage showed that there’s no doubt Ana De Armas’ assassin will bring the same amount of brutality and physicality to the role as Keanu Reeves has in the franchise. The star revealed she underwent “three and a half to four months of training” for “four to five hours a day” for the role and promised creative fight sequences that incorporate the grace and flexibility of a true ballerina.

A new universe could be taking shape as the first film adaptation in The Housemaid book series arrives in theaters this Christmas. Stars Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar, and director Paul Feig hit the stage to debut the first trailer to the CinemaCon crowd. The film, which brought Seyfried to “places I never thought I’d go to,” features twists and turns that will delight both lovers of the series and fans of thrillers.

James Gunn, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult and David Corenswet took the CinemaCon stage to kick off the tour for the DCU’s Superman. The crew shared some behind-the-scenes moments from the set and all agreed just how special the film is, with Hoult saying he felt like he was witness to the magic of movie making in real time. They went on to share an extended sneak peek of the film featuring plenty of Krypto the Superdog. And although he’s very adorable, the footage showed just how big of a troublemaker he could be. Gunn revealed that he was inspired by his own dog Ozu: “What if this dog had superpowers? I’d be f—ed.”
