"I am so not done playing her yet. I will do whatever I can to keep playing Harley for another couple years, until my body gives out and I can't do it anymore."
That's what Margot Robbie told us when we spoke to the Suicide Squad star about hypothetically playing Harley Quinn in more movies. As it turns out, those movies may not be actual Suicide Squad sequels. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is already making plans to spin off Quinn from her Squad costars.
That doesn't necessarily mean Harley Quinn will be getting her own solo movie, though. THR also reports that she could be joined by a number of other female DC Comics characters, both villains and heroes. They don't actually name who any of these other characters are, but in the Batman realm alone you've got characters like Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Talia al Ghul, Batgirl, Batwoman and Bluebird. They could even be importing some from Superman's neck of the woods, too, which could really open things up.
As of right now this Quinn-led spin-off is still just a thought experiment for the studio. They've reportedly hired a unnamed female writer for the project, but there is no director or start date yet. But if Suicide Squad turns out as entertaining as everyone hopes it will be, and if Robbie's Quinn remains one of the buzz-worthy parts of the movie, you can count on that reaction greasing the production wheels on a movie like this.
