What you see below is the first official image of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang in Marvel's next big stand-alone movie, Ant-Man. Now, if you were expecting him to be riding on a giant ant, you're probably a little disappointed, but just remember we're at the earliest stages of filming now. In fact, production didn't officially start on the project until this week.
In the movie, now being directed by Peyton Reed (Bring It On), Rudd's character Lang is a con man who meets a genius inventor, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), who helps him get back on the right track. One of Pym's employees (Corey Stoll) wants to use Pym's incredible shrinking technology to somehow harm the world, so Pym gifts his Ant-Man suit and technology to Lang in order to help him stop it all from happening.
Other cast members include Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Wood Harris, Judy Greer, Michael Peña, the rapper T.I. and, in a surprising twist, John Slattery, who will reprise his role as Howard Stark (and presumably has some kind of history with Douglas' Hank Pym).
Ant-Man comes to theaters on July 17, 2015.
