Earlier this year we learned that while Toy Story 3 may be the last big-screen Toy Story feature film, Pixar was still working on at least one short film that would star some of our favorite Toy Story characters. Apparently that short will be attached to Cars 2, due out June 24th, and we may now know what the central premise is. Ken and Barbie

Disney/Pixar animator Floyd Norman recently Tweeted that he watched a new Pixar short called Hawaii, noting “Ken and Barbie want to go to Hawaii. I don’t know what it’s gonna be attached to. Fun stuff, however.” Well, there are two possibilities here. Either this is the Toy Story short that will be attached to Cars 2, or this is something completely different that we weren’t aware of.
Chances are this is indeed the Toy Story short in front of Cars 2, and if so then it’s great that they’ll be focusing on two of the last film’s funniest characters. Count on there being a bunch more toys involved as well since Ken and Barbie wouldn’t make a big travel decision like that without a little extra assistance.
Are you excited to see more shorts set in the Toy Story world, or would you rather them make another feature film?
