What started out as a slow week in movie world finished with a flurry of news and pics, including images for Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Hunger Games. As we wind down the final days of summer, let's take a look back at the headlines, rumors, videos, pics and trailers that hit the web this week.

Scott Glenn is returning for The Bourne Legacy, reprising his role as CIA Director Ezra Kramer from The Bourne Ultimatum.
Anne Hathaway took time during the press junket for her upcoming romantic drama One Day to address the negative comments that were made about her Catwoman costume. You can watch the video clip here.
The other stunning news from this week is the proposed remake of Dirty Dancing. Kenny Ortega, who choreographed the original movie and most recently directed Michael Jackson's This Is It will helm this movie which fans have responded to with passionate disgust. Jennifer Grey, who played Frances 'Baby' Houseman in the 1987 version took to her Twitter account saying, "I love @Kennyortega and trust that he will do something special #DirtyDancingRemake." It was a big week as far as Girl with the Dragon Tattoo content goes. First, a character guide was released over on the movie's Official Site. Hover over the Characters tab and a list of names will appear, with detailed character info for each person. Rooney Mara, who stars as Lisbeth Salander, discussed filming intense rape scenes and that now infamous topless poster. Finally, we got a sample of the Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross score for the film.
Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs) has secured the rights to Stephen King's newest book which will hit stores in November. Demme will write the script and direct while King will executive produce.
Early details emerged for the third Riddick movie. Moviehole has the scoop, with a few spoilers, on this latest Vin Diesel flick.
Ving Rhames, who battled the undead in Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead is set to beat the snot out of a bunch of zombies in Zombie Apocolypse.
20th Century Fox has agreed to pay The Barefoot Bandit $1.3 Million for a movie deal. Colton Harris-Moore, the teenage burglar who was dubbed Barefoot Bandit by the press went on the run from the law after burglarizing over 100 homes by stealing a plane and flying to the Bahamas where he was eventually caught. With over $130 million in the bank so far ($85 million from the U.S.), Sony has greenlit a Smurfs sequel due out in 2013. Way to go, America.
Eddie Murphy is set to voice Hong Kong Phooey in a live-action/animated adaptation of the 1970's cartoon. The feature film adaptation of the cartoon was originally proposed in 2009 but seems to be gaining some traction. Murphy, of course is no stranger to animated films, having voiced Donkey in the Shrek franchise.
The Lincoln Lawyer ended up being one of the sleeper hits of early 2011. Now Lionsgate TV and Lakeshore Entertainment have agreed to bring the movie to the small screen with a TV adaptation.
Though it feels like it's taking forever for Conan the Barbarian to hit theaters, star Jason Momoa says he's already written a sequel. Momoa says that the sequel gets into "more of the mythical creatures."
In case anybody cares, a third Bridget Jones movie has been given the green light. Renee Zellweger will reprise her role as the hapless Jones, while word is that Colin Firth will return to play Mark Darcy. Though seven years have passed since the last Jones movie, the series has proved to be a cash cow, bringing in over $540 million worldwide.
Amazing Spiderman Andrew Garfield will trade his Spidey suit for a dress shirt next spring when he stars in Death of a Salesman. The Pulitzer-Prize winning Arthur Miller play will stage a Broadway revivial, directed by Mike Nichols and co-starring Philip Seymour Hoffman as traveling salesman Willy Loman. Garfield will play the underachieving son, Biff.
In the same week that it said it would be cutting 120,000 jobs, the U.S. Postal Service announced that legendary director Frank Capra would be honored with his own stamp. Last week, the USPS announced that John Ford would be featured in the Directors Series, which honors filmmakers who have captured the many different aspects of the American experience. The stamps will be released next year.
The lives of two of Hollywood's busiest young actresses just got a little busier. Emma Stone and Olivia Wilde were named the new faces and global ambassadors of Revlon. The pair join other Hollywood hotties including Halle Berry, Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Jessica Biel and Elle MacPherson.
During a screening of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark earlier this week, Guillermo del Toro addressed a number of topics including how the Weinsteins tried to mess with the story and how he ended up picking Troy Nixey to direct. Del Toro also explained why the PG-13 rating is the "refuge of cowards."
It was only a matter of time but today we learn via IndieWire that Mark Romanek is set to direct a re-imagined live-action version of Cinderella. Romanek's last feature was Never Let Me Go, which failed to pull in audiences and didn't manage much traction in the late 2010 awards race. Romanek was once rumored to up for The Wolverine, but turned the gig down.
Rumors
While the Jon Chu directed G.I. Joe sequel is still in casting mode, the big rumor this week is that Bruce Willis is in talks to star as the original G.I. Joe, General Joe Colton. If Willis signs on, he'll join newcomers Dwayne Johnson, Adrienne Palicki, Ray Stevenson and Wu Tang Clan's The RZA.
Though he touched up on the topic during his Hall H presentation at Comic-Con, Robert Rodriguez says that financing and a script are now in place for Sin City 2. We've been down this road before with a Sin City sequel, but it looks like this time things might be coming together. The sequel is scheduled for a 2013 release.

Depending on where you stand with the franchise, yesterday's release of two new Breaking Dawn- Part 1 photos from Entertainment Weekly was either a boring non-event or quite possibly the greatest thing that has happened to you this month. Or maybe somewhere in between. One pic is below, you can view the other one here.
The other franchise that will hit theaters next spring, The Hunger Games, released two more pics. New images of Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) surfaced earlier in the week. The Katniss pic is below and you can find Peeta lounging around here. The franchise also announced that the second book-to-movie adaptation, Catching Fire, would arrive in theaters November 22, 2013.
While she currently stars in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and appears as Phaedra in November's CGI-eyegasm Immortals, we got a first look this week of Freida Pinto in Michael Winterbottom's latest, Trishna. The romantic drama will make its premiere next month at the Toronto Film Festival and you can view the rest of the images here.

The first trailer for the third Harold and Kumar adventure hit the 'net this week. Featuring the usual mix of drugs, crude jokes, drugs, Neil Patrick Harris and more drugs, our sky-high duo take on Christmas in 3D.
Ralph Fiennes not only directed the Shakespeare-meets-modern warfare dramaCoriolanus, he also stars as the title character. The first trailer arrived Thursday and co-stars Gerard Butler.

Today, we get a second Footloose trailer. Nothing you didn't see in the first version, although the soundtrack is new and definitely has that MTV vibe to it.
Based on the characters created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame, Casey Jones is the story of a brutal vigilante who vows to rid his neighborhood of crime. A one-night screening is taking place in Austin, Texas this Sunday. Check out the trailer below and RSVP on the Facebook page.
Finally, a teaser trailer was released for Disney's family fantasy flick, The Odd Life of Timothy Green. The story sort of mirrors Pinocchio, focusing on a childless couple that wishes for a kid and writes down all their hopes and wishes.
