Ah, Trolls. Those so-ugly-they're-cute characters first popularized in the '50s are making a comeback. And this fall, they star in their own movie, Trolls, opening November 4. Just in time for the first day of school, here's a fun craft inspired by the movie's main characters, Princess Poppy (voiced by Anna Kendrick) and Branch (voiced by Justin Timberlake).
Start by cutting out ½” x 4” sections of craft fur in black and hot pink. If you’re unable to find hot-pink fur, add color to white fur with a permanent marker. Make sure you cut from beneath the fur so that you’re cutting the backing and not the fur itself.
Run a line of glue down the fur backing and tightly wrap it around the top of your pencil.
Use a rubber band to hold the fur in place while the glue dries.
Cut out Princess Poppy’s floral headband and Branch’s eyebrows from felt.
Glue the googly eyes, headband and eyebrows into place. You’ll also want to give Branch’s hair a little trim to match his hairstyle in the movie.
Then get ready to have the coolest pencils in school.
