Which beautiful actress will fall head over heels for Chris Evans’ Captain America? That’s the big question now as this highly-anticipated Marvel superhero film finishes up some of its bigger casting decisions. Just the other day Gossip Girl’s Sebastian Stan was cast as Captain America’s sidekick Bucky Barnes, and now E! is reporting that the role of the Captain’s sweetheart, Peggy Carter , looks to be coming down to two actresses: Alice Eve and Hayley Atwell. Wait, who?
Yes, Eve and Atwell aren’t ladies you immediately recognize and already adore, but give them a little time. Alice Eve might be a little more familiar to those who just saw her star as the blond bombshell in She’s Out of My League. She’s also had roles in smaller films like Crossing Over, Starter for 10 and Big Nothing. Meanwhile Hayley Atwell may seem even more random; she’s a British actress who’s not all that well known stateside yet, however with roles in critically-acclaimed films like The Duchess and Mansfield Park – as well as parts in the TV events The Prisoner and The Pillars of Earth – Atwell is sure to break out at any moment.
E! claims both ladies are returning for a second audition, which seems to mean that the decision is now down to two. Just recently both Emily Blunt and Keira Knightley walked away from the role for unknown reasons.
