We haven't seen or heard much about Tom Hardy since his turn as the villainous Bane in The Dark Knight Rises last year. The actor had been busy filming Mad Max: Fury Road among other films.

Today, the actor added a new project to his list of upcoming films. Deadline reports that Hardy has signed on to play music icon Elton John in a biopic titled Rocketman.

The film tracks John's life from childhood to his meteoric rise to stardom. The Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer is set to rerecord a number of his biggest films for the film.

Rocketman is being written by War Horse writer Lee Hall and scheduled to begin filming in fall 2014.

Three actors have been mentioned as potential candidates for the lead role in the long-gestating John Belushi biopic.

THR reports that Joaquin Phoenix, Emile Hirsch and Workaholics star Adam Devine are all being considered to portray the famed comedian who died of a drug overdose at the age of 33.

Written and directed by Steve Conrad (The Weather Man), the biopic has been in development for several years now. At one point, The Hangover director Todd Phillips had been on board to direct. Filming is scheduled to begin early next year.

As you sit there reading this, there are three Lance Armstrong movies currently in production. While the J.J. Abrams/Bad Robot and Jay Roach/Warner Bros. versions are currently in preproduction, the third is currently filming.

Studio Canal released the first look of Ben Foster as the famous bicyclist. Production on the still untitled film began last week and features a supporting cast that includes Chris O'Dowd and Jesse Plemons.

There is no release date for Stephen Frears' Armstrong pic, but expect it to end up in theaters sometime next year. Meanwhile, you can catch Foster in Lone Survivor this December.
