Whoa! The first teaser trailer for Bill & Ted Face the Music (in theaters August 21; sign up for a Fan Alert here) has arrived, giving us a quick look at what life looks like for Bill S. Preston Esq. (Alex Winter) and Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan (Keanu Reeves) 29 years after we last found them tearing up the guitar chords in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991), and before that in the film that started it all: Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989).
In this third film in the series, the now middle-aged Bill & Ted are told by a visitor from the future that only their song can save the world as we know it. The duo must then team up with their daughters, Thea (Samara Weaving) and Billie (Brigette Lundy-Paine), as well as various historical figures and music legends in order to bring harmony to the universe once and for all.

To celebrate the debut of the teaser trailer, Fandango sat down for a lengthy chat with Bill & Ted writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon to talk about all three films. From the first film’s early origins as a sketch comedy routine to the large role Bill & Ted’s daughters play in the third installment (not to mention the very cool nod to the late George Carlin), we created the below trivia video that journeys through the Bill & Ted trilogy via all kinds of fun facts provided to us straight from the dudes who created the characters.
