Last spotted: Wanda Maximoff was being held in The Raft for the part she played in aiding fugitive Steve Rogers. After disobeying governmental orders set forth by the Sokovia Accords, she used her telekinetic abilities to fight against Iron Man and what remained of the Avengers. She was taken into custody and slapped with a straightjacket and special collar — one that we presume blocked her abilities.
Her whereabouts thereafter were unknown when Captain Rogers broke into The Raft and extracted her and the rest of his comrades in custody.
Recent movements: Wanda went off the grid with Vision, with whom she had fallen in love. As with the other members who’ve sided with Cap, they’ve been performing rogue missions, while trying to find points to meet up with the others as often as possible.
Current whereabouts: Wanda was with Vision when they were attacked by Promixa Midnight and Corvus Glaive, two members of Thanos’ Black Order who are after the Infinity Stone welded into the android’s temple. Vision got “skewered,” according to Paul Bettany, while trying to fend them off — “in front of a kabob shop,” no less. But they were aided by Captain America and Black Widow, and all four escaped with their lives.
Wanda is now in Wakanda, where they hope Shuri (Letitia Wright) can be of some assistance. The sister of King T’Challa is a proven manipulator of the metal vibranium that Vision is composed of. The Scarlet Witch watches over her love when Thanos’ army comes knocking on the kingdom’s door.
Power house: A behind-the-scenes featurette attached to the bonus materials of the Captain America: Civil War Blu-ray revealed something Vision told General Ross. “Ms. Maximoff manipulates molecular polarity, allowing her to alter reality,” he says. This is the first time a Marvel character has acknowledged the fact that Wanda can do more than move things with her mind and mess with peoples’ heads — like in the comics. But when asked about whether her powers will escalate in Infinity War, Bettany chimed in, “You’ll have to wait and see.”
Additional intel: “There’s like an anchor point to everything, which is what you’re constantly looking for when you’re doing these movies. What anchors [your character] to a grounded reality? And you have that throughout the whole film. You have your partner, your life partner with you by your side, and that creates a different kind of stakes, as well.” — Elizabeth Olsen
